Volunteer with Us

You’ve likely heard it before because it’s true: volunteers really are the heart of hospice! We are privileged to help train and support you in becoming an essential part of our team and touching the lives of fellow community members when you are needed most.

Opportunities

Respite Volunteers: support family members and other caregivers through in-home visits, errands, light housework, gardening, snow shoveling, etc.

Vigil Volunteers: offer compassionate presence to hospice clients without family or friends near, in the final hours of their life

Complementary Therapy Volunteers: support hospice clients using touch therapies, aromatherapy, music, and pet therapy

Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteers: provide specialized support to hospice clients who have served our country

Bereavement Volunteers: provide specialized phone support to family members after the death of their loved one

Administrative Volunteers: assist office staff with administrative assignments

Volunteer Training

We offer an initial in-person volunteer training that takes place twice a year over two full days to prepare you to work side by side as part of the hospice team to support clients and families with the comprehensive care they need. We also invite existing volunteers to train with us further to serve in our bereavement, complementary therapy, vet-to-vet, and vigil programs. Please call our volunteer coordinator for more information.
